JACK BANKS
Baptised in 2013, HURyCAN is a performing arts project that claims the communicative necessity of movement, exploring its limits, its personal and emotional dimensions. The work expose a physical and sensible experience through both naives and trangressives games. Like the dynamical balance of a dance, open to imagination, humor and emotions.
Arthur Bernard Bazin and Candelaria Antelo started a common research in 2010, later, their creations have been awarded on several occasions, in Spain, France, Germany, Cuba, USA, and they have been performing around the five continents.

ARTHUR BERNARD BAZIN
Initiated to Drama in the outskirts of Paris, he then combined Theatre with Visual Arts and Juggling. In 2007 he moved to Madrid where he furthered his theatrical and physical studies within different classes and academies (like La Usina, the RESAD and the CSDMA). During this
time, he collaborated with the emerging companies of Camille C. Hanson and La Phármaco (LuzArcas), keeping the professional link until these days.
In 2010, he started an artistic collaboration with Sharon Fridman (Spain/Israel) as dancer and choreographic assistant, participating actively in the creation of several projects of the choreographer since then and until today. Years after, in 2020 he starts to collaborate as a choreographic artist with the French company Le Grand Jeté! (Cluny, France).
In parallel, he codirect his own company : HURyCAN (Madrid, Spain), funded alongside with Candelaria Antelo. As the result of a continuous research for the construction of a choreographic, theatralic and acrobatic language initiated in 2010, their creations have been awarded by several choreographic prizes and programmed in theatres and festivals across the 5 continents.
During the last years, he also has been leading many pedagogical activities and creative collaborations within local and international structures (academies, festivals and companies). Among other things: in 2016 he has been invited choreographer for T.H.E Dance Company (Singapore), in 2019-2020 he co-directed with Raúl Martínez the Maslenitsa project, for SUSS collective (Moscow, Russia), in 2022, he share the creation of le last project of Grupo RES : Mandojo (Santa Fe, Argentina), in 2023 he shared the artistic direction with the Flamenco artists Eduardo Guerrero and Sara Jimenez for the work Bailar No Es Solo Bailar (Madrid/Jerez, Spain).
CANDELARIA ANTELO
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, she began her contemporary dance studies at the ARTE XXI school in 2004. In 2007 she moved to England, where she obtained a Bachelor of Performing Arts with Honours (BPA) at The Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. That same year she moved to Spain, where she collaborated as a dancer and musician with the Derida Dance company, directed by Jivsko Jeliazkov.
In Madrid, from 2008, she participated as a dancer in the work “Desordances 4” by Dani Pannullo Dance Theater company, and the following year she joined the choreographic line of the María de Ávila Conservatory of Dance (CSDMA), from which she graduated in June 2013. Throughout those years she worked for various dance/theater companies and directors such as Lucyanna Pettengyl, Verónica Santiago Moniello, Francisco Leiva, Mey-Ling Bisogno and Lucio Baglivo.
In parallel to her activity as a dancer, in 2010 she began her collaboration as a choreographer with Arthur Bernard Bazin with whom she created and co-directs her own company: HURyCAN, whose work has been rewarded with various choreographic awards and programmed in festivals and theaters through the 5 continents.
As a teacher, she gives seminars and master classes in different countries, invited by companies and festivals such as: BODYTRAFFIC Summer Programme (USA), PRISMA Festival (Panama), Cia Una Constante (Argentina), Festival Circuito Bucles (Spain), Buenos Aires International Dance Festival (Argentina), M1 Contact Contemporary Dance Festival (Singapore), and accompanies various creative processes as a choreographic assistant (Codarts School students, Cia. Rampante, Seb and Blanca, Lucio Baglivo and Mariana Collado...).
